The CAPITOL CLUB was organized in Lansing in 1943 by a dedicated group of association executives committed to excellence in organizational management and the advancement of legislative advocacy for their respective associations to enhance the great state of Michigan. The first president of the CAPITOL CLUB was Ray O. Brundage who was the executive of the Michigan Bankers Association.

The CAPITOL CLUB today maintains the traditions of its founding fathers through a membership of no more than 50 chief executive officers of the capital area’s most well recognized and established associations representing the business and professional communities. These CAPITOL CLUB executives must be sponsored by a member and elected by the membership, evidencing one’s commitment to the pursuit of excellence in association management and high standards of professional conduct in the performance of legislative advocacy.

The CAPITOL CLUB sponsors luncheon forums during the active session period of the State Legislature. These forum sessions feature speakers providing valuable insights associated with the many governmental issues on the agenda.

The CAPITOL CLUB also convenes business meetings and social programs to advance the common purpose of its voluntary membership associations.

The CAPITOL CLUB is one of Lansing area’s most respected and prestigious organizations.
